PICTO is the Philippines Information & Communications Technology Organization and the umbrella organization of the electronics, information technology, broadcast, and telecommunications industries in the country. It was originally registered in 1969 as PETEF (Philippine Electronics & Telecommunications Federation) and was subsequently reincorporated in 2018 as PICTO with the intention to modernize and ensure the organization's relevance in the nation's tech landscape.
PICTO is recognized by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) as the representative federation of the Philippine Telecommunications Industry. As the acknowledged voice of Philippine ICT, PICTO works closely with the government to help formulate and define the policies and guidelines that accelerate the development of the country's telecommunications, information technology, electronics, and broadcast sectors — guided by the principle that private enterprise is the key engine of economic growth.
PICTO advocates for the definitive foundations that support the swift development of the Philippine Information Infrastructure — the country's main link to the Global Information Infrastructure (GII) — so that all Filipinos have access to the internet and basic communications services.
